Daily Prayer: Day 141

From Simple Prayers, Day 141

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

May I fear You, the Lord my God; may I serve You, hold fast to You, and take my oaths in Your name. For You are my praise, and You are my God, who performed for me these great and awesome wonders which I have seen with my own eyes. (Deuteronomy 10:20–21)

You are the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps His covenant of lovingkindness. (Nehemiah 9:32)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him. (Habakkuk 2:20)

God raised Jesus from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held by it. (Acts 2:24)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

God chose me in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined me to be adopted as His son through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He bestowed upon me in the One He loves. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will make it my ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind my own business, and to work with my own hands, so that I may walk properly toward those who are outside and lack nothing. (1 Thessalonians 4:11–12)

Because of our ministry of supplying the needs of the saints, they will glorify God for the obedience that accompanies our confession of the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of sharing with them and with everyone else. (2 Corinthians 9:13)

Lord, I thank You for Your awesome power and for raising Jesus from the dead. I thank You for choosing me in Christ before the foundation of the world, and I ask for the ability to assist those around me who are in need.
