Daily Prayer: Day 142

From Simple Prayers, Day 142

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

From within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, sexual immorality, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these evil things come from within and defile a man. (Mark 7:21–23)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will regard the Lord of hosts as holy; He shall be my fear, and He shall be my dread. (Isaiah 8:13)

Jesus is the stone which was rejected by the builders, but which has become the chief cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:11–12)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

By grace I have been saved through faith, and this not of myself; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

As each of us has received a gift, we should use it to serve others, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)

I want to be worthy of respect, not double-tongued, not addicted to wine, not fond of dishonest gain, but holding the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. (1 Timothy 3:8–9)

Lord, I thank You that You are holy and that Jesus is the source of eternal salvation. I thank You that You have saved me by grace through faith, and I ask that I would be a faithful steward of the gifts You have given me.
