Daily Prayer: Day 147

From Simple Prayers, Day 147

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, O Lord,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
Yes, they sing of the ways of the Lord,
For the glory of the Lord is great.
Though the Lord is on high,
Yet He looks upon the lowly,
But the proud He knows from afar. (Psalm 138:4–6)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

O Sovereign Lord, You are God! Your words are true, and You have promised good things to Your servant. (2 Samuel 7:28)

God will impute righteousness to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered over to death because of our sins and was raised because of our justification. (Romans 4:24–25)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins? Let us search out and examine our ways, and let us return to the Lord. (Lamentations 3:39–40)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will trust in You enough to honor You as holy in the sight of others. (Numbers 20:12)

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)

Lord, I thank You that Your words are true and that You credit righteousness to those who trust in Christ. I ask that I would return to You when I fall into disobedience, and that I would trust You and enrich others.
