Daily Prayer: Day 148

From Simple Prayers, Day 148

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

The word of the Lord is upright,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord. (Psalm 33:4–5)

Once God has spoken;
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God,
And that You, O Lord, are loving.
For You reward each person according to what he has done. (Psalm 62:11–12)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will arise and bless the Lord, my God, who is from everlasting to everlasting. Blessed be Your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise! (Nehemiah 9:5)

The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Everyone who drinks ordinary water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water You give will never thirst. Indeed, the water You give becomes in us a spring of water welling up to eternal life. (John 4:13–14)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time I will reap a harvest if I do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

I will be self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill my ministry. (2 Timothy 4:5)

Lord, I thank You that Your glorious name is exalted and that I can look forward to the fullness of resurrected life. I thank You for the living water that Jesus offers, and I ask that I would persevere and fulfill my calling.
