I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal consolation and good hope by grace, comfort our hearts and strengthen us in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16–17)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
When He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20–21)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
We were dead in our trespasses and sins, in which we used to live when we followed the course of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath. (Ephesians 2:1–3)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I will submit myself to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. (Romans 13:1–2)
I will give to all what they are due: taxes to whom taxes are due, custom to whom custom, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. (Romans 13:7)
Lord, I thank You for the freedom of Your Spirit and for the reality of Your kingdom. I thank You for delivering me from bondage to the world, the flesh, and the devil, and I ask that I would submit myself to the authorities You have established.
