Daily Prayer: Day 156

From Simple Prayers, Day 156

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

I will endure discipline, for God is treating me as a son. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If I am without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then I am an illegitimate child and not a true son. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them; how much more should I be subjected to the Father of spirits and live? (Hebrews 12:7–9)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change His mind, for He is not a man, that He should change His mind. (1 Samuel 15:29)

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; by His knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds drop down the dew. (Proverbs 3:19–20)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The Lord Himself goes before me and will be with me; He will never leave me nor forsake me. I will not be afraid or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will be careful to lead a blameless life. I will walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house. I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it will not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know evil. Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; I will not endure him who has haughty eyes and a proud heart. My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. (Psalm 101:2–7)

Surely the righteous will give thanks to Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence. (Psalm 140:13)

Lord, I thank You that Your purposes never change and that You established the heavens and the earth in wisdom. I thank You that You will never leave me nor forsake me, and I ask that I would walk in integrity of heart and practice Your presence.
