Daily Prayer: Day 160

From Simple Prayers, Day 160

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. (1 Timothy 1:17)

The God of all grace, who called me to His eternal glory in Christ, after I have suffered a little while, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish me. To him be the glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:10–11)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not his own; it is not in a man who walks to direct his steps. (Jeremiah 10:23)

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

God is my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth changes and the mountains slip into the heart of the sea. (Psalm 46:1–2)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Blessed is the man who always fears God, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble. (Proverbs 28:14)

A person’s wickedness will punish him; his backsliding will reprove him. I know therefore and see that it is evil and bitter to forsake the Lord my God and have no fear of Him.  (Jeremiah 2:19)

Lord, I thank You that You direct my steps and illuminate me with the gospel of the glory of Christ. I thank You for being my refuge and strength, and I ask that I would fear You and never forsake You.
