Daily Prayer: Day 162

From Simple Prayers, Day 162

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

The Lord Most High is awesome,
The great King over all the earth!
God is the King of all the earth,
And I will sing His praise.
God reigns over the nations;
God is seated on His holy throne. (Psalm 47:2, 7–8)

You must be treated as holy by those who come near You, and before all people, You will be honored. (Leviticus 10:3)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Lovingkindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. (Psalm 85:10–11)

The Lord prayed, “I glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do. And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world began.” (John 17:4–5)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will not fear, for You are with me; I will not be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me and help me; You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand. For You are the Lord my God, who takes hold of my right hand and says to me, “Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:10, 13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I want to let justice roll down like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. (Amos 5:24)

I will take heed not to practice my righteousness before men to be seen by them. Otherwise, I will have no reward from my Father in heaven. (Matthew 6:1)

Lord, I thank You for Your lovingkindness and truth and for the perfection of Christ’s completed work. I thank You for strengthening and upholding me, and I ask that I would be intent upon justice and righteousness.
