Daily Prayer: Day 163

From Simple Prayers, Day 163

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of Your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Lord, I have heard of Your fame, and I stand in awe of Your deeds.
O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years,
In our time make them known;
In wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2)

Out of the depths I have called to You, O Lord.
O Lord, hear my voice,
And let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared. (Psalm 130:1–4)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive and abundant in mercy to all who call upon You. (Psalm 86:5)

Peter told the council, “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you had killed by hanging Him on a tree. God exalted Him to His own right hand as Prince and Savior, that He might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.” (Acts 5:30–31)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

If God is for me, who can be against me? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not, also with Him, freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31–32)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Young men should be submissive to those who are older, and all of us should clothe ourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5)

I will honor all people, love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, and honor the king. (1 Peter 2:17)

Lord, I thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness and for exalting Jesus to Your right hand as Prince and Savior. I thank You for freely giving me all things in Christ, and I ask that I would clothe myself with humility toward others.
