Daily Prayer: Day 167

From Simple Prayers, Day 167

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip us in every good thing to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. (Hebrews 13:20–21)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The sum of Your words is truth, and all of Your righteous judgments are eternal. (Psalm 119:160)

You will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their iniquity. You will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. (Isaiah 13:11)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

My soul yearns for You in the night; my spirit within me diligently seeks You. When Your judgments come upon the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. (Isaiah 26:9)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Wives should be submissive to their own husbands, so that even if any of them disobey the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, when they see their purity and reverence. (1 Peter 3:1–2)

Husbands should be considerate as they live with their wives and treat them with respect as the weaker vessel and as co-heirs of the grace of life. (1 Peter 3:7)

Lord, I thank You that Your righteous judgments are eternal and that You will put an end to iniquity. I thank You for the desire to seek and to know You, and I ask that I would be faithful in my commitment to serve others.
