Daily Prayer: Day 178

From Simple Prayers, Day 178

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

May I flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but the immoral person sins against his own body. (1 Corinthians 6:18)

May I not set my heart on evil things, or be an idolater, or commit sexual immorality. (1 Corinthians 10:6–8)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will trust in the Lord forever, for in Yahweh, the Lord, I have an everlasting Rock. (Isaiah 26:4)

Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions committed under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:15)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I know that my old self was crucified with Christ, so that the body of sin might be done away with, that I should no longer be a slave to sin; for the one who has died has been freed from sin. (Romans 6:6–7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to wisdom will live securely and be at ease from the fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:32–33)

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding, for its profit is greater than that of silver, and its gain than fine gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing I desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her, and happy are those who hold her fast. (Proverbs 3:13–18)

Lord, I thank You that I can trust in You forever and that Christ has promised the gift of an eternal inheritance. I thank You for my deliverance in Christ from the bondage of sin, and I ask that I would find wisdom and gain understanding.
