Daily Prayer: Day 183

From Simple Prayers, Day 183

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are Your judgments, and Your ways past finding out!
For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been Your counselor?
Or who has first given to You,
That You should repay him?
For from You and through You and to You are all things.
To You be the glory forever! Amen. (Romans 11:33–36)

Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, because His judgments are true and righteous. (Revelation 19:1–2)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness, a God who relents from sending calamity. (Jonah 4:2)

To us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6–7)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

We all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

All things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: namely, that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us, as we implore others on Christ’s behalf to be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:18–20)

Knowing the fear of the Lord, I seek to persuade men. (2 Corinthians 5:11)

Lord, I thank You that You are gracious and compassionate and that Your Son will reign over all the earth. I thank You for the transforming power of Your Spirit, and I ask that I would lovingly seek to persuade others to be reconciled to You through Christ.
