Daily Prayer: Day 187

From Simple Prayers, Day 187

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

We were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. (1 Corinthians 12:13)

There should be no division in the body, but its members should have the same concern for each other. If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now we are the body of Christ, and each one of us is a member of it. (1 Corinthians 12:25–27)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, who is being renewed in full knowledge according to the image of its Creator. (Colossians 3:9–10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

If I do not judge, I will not be judged; if I do not condemn, I will not be condemned; if I forgive, I will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)

We must be devoted to one another in brotherly love, honoring one another above ourselves. (Romans 12:10)

Lord, I thank You that Christ is the sure and unchanging foundation of my faith. I thank You that in Him I have put on the new self, and I ask that I would not judge others, but honor them.
