Daily Prayer: Day 189

From Simple Prayers, Day 189

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

Surely the righteous will give thanks to Your name;
The upright will dwell in Your presence. (Psalm 140:13)

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him;
He hears their cry and saves them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy. (Psalm 145:18–20)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You, Lord, love justice; You hate robbery and iniquity. (Isaiah 61:8)

Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14–15)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

When I ask, it will be given to me; when I seek, I will find; when I knock, the door will be opened to me. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7–8; Luke 11:9–10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will bless those who persecute me; I will bless and not curse. (Romans 12:14)

Concerning brotherly love, we have been taught by God to love each other, and the Lord urges us to increase more and more. (1 Thessalonians 4:9–10)

Lord, I thank You that You love justice and that the subtle work of Satan will never defeat Your purposes. I thank You that You delight in answering prayer, and I ask that I would increase more and more in my love for others.
