Daily Prayer: Day 190

From Simple Prayers, Day 190

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, Your goodness, and Your love, and I now draw near to enjoy Your presence.

The Lord my God is God in the heavens above and in the earth below. (Joshua 2:11)

The Lord stretches out the north over empty space;
He suspends the earth on nothing. (Job 26:7)

He who made the Pleiades and Orion
And turns deep darkness into morning
And darkens day into night,
Who calls for the waters of the sea
And pours them out over the face of the earth—
The Lord is His name. (Amos 5:8)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength. (Isaiah 45:24)

If righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing. (Galatians 2:21)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. (Mark 10:15; Luke 18:17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will keep the feast of Christ, my Passover, not with old leaven, or with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Corinthians 5:7–8)

I do not want even a hint of immorality, or any impurity, or greed in my life, as is proper for a saint. Nor will I give myself to obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking, which are not fitting, but rather to giving of thanks. (Ephesians 5:3–4)

Lord, I thank You for Your righteousness and strength and for the sufficiency of Christ’s redemptive work. I pray that I would receive Your kingdom like a little child, and I ask that I would flee immorality and impurity and pursue sincerity and truth.
