From Simple Prayers, Day 195
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
Great and marvelous are Your works,
Lord God Almighty!
Righteous and true are Your ways,
King of the nations!
Who will not fear You, O Lord,
And glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before You,
For Your righteous acts have been revealed. (Revelation 15:3–4)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with You. (Psalm 5:4)
The Lord of hosts warned the priests of Israel, “If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor My name, I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not set your heart to honor Me.” (Malachi 2:2)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
If I live according to the flesh, I will die; but if by the Spirit I put to death the deeds of the body, I will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Romans 8:13–14)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
He who answers a matter before he hears, that is his folly and his shame. (Proverbs 18:13)
The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but perverseness in it crushes the spirit. (Proverbs 15:4)
Lord, I thank You that You take no pleasure in wickedness and that You call Your people to honor Your name. I thank You for leading me by Your Spirit, and I ask that I would be careful to listen to others and to edify them in the things that I say.
