Daily Prayer: Day 196

From Simple Prayers, Day 196

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

Because I love You, You will deliver me;
You will protect me, for I acknowledge Your name.
I will call upon You, and You will answer me;
You will be with me in trouble,
You will deliver me and honor me.
With long life You will satisfy me
And show me Your salvation. (Psalm 91:14–16)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You have been just in all that has happened to us; You have acted faithfully, while we did wrong. (Nehemiah 9:33)

You, Lord God, take no pleasure in the death of the wicked but rather that the wicked turn from their ways and live. (Ezekiel 18:23; 33:11)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Your grace is sufficient for me, for Your power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I can be content in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9–10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Proverbs 29:20)

I will put away all of these things: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive language from my mouth. (Colossians 3:8)

Lord, I thank You for Your faithful judgment and for Your desire that the wicked would turn from their ways and live. I thank You for Your power that is made perfect in my weakness, and I ask that I would be careful to avoid abusive language.
