From Simple Prayers, Day 200
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.
May I humble myself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt me in due time, casting all my anxiety upon Him, because He cares for me. (1 Peter 5:6–7)
Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
Far be it from You to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right? (Genesis 18:25)
The Lord relieves the humble, but He casts the wicked to the ground. (Psalm 147:6)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
You are the Lord my God; I will consecrate myself and be holy, because You are holy. You are the Lord who brought Your people up out of Egypt to be their God; therefore I will be holy, because You are holy. (Leviticus 11:44–45; 19:2)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
The ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He examines all his paths. (Proverbs 5:21)
The foremost commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no commandment greater than these. To love God with all the heart and with the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as himself are more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. (Mark 12:29–31, 33)
Lord, I thank You that Your judgments are always right and just. I pray that I would consecrate myself and be holy, and I ask that I would love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and that I would love my neighbor as myself.
