Daily Prayer: Day 202

From Simple Prayers, Day 202

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty, You will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and You will be his God and he will be Your son. (Revelation 21:6–7)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for a stroke of a letter of God’s law to fail. (Luke 16:17)

Jesus fell with His face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

If anyone serves You, he must follow You; and where You are, Your servant also will be. If anyone serves You, the Father will honor him. (John 12:26)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I do not want to justify myself in the eyes of men; God knows our hearts, and what is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15)

Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I tell you, not seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21–22)

Lord, I thank You that Your word will never fail and that that Jesus perfectly fulfilled Your will. I thank You that I have been privileged to become Your servant, and I ask that I would not seek to justify myself before others and that I would always be willing to forgive those who have injured me.
