From Simple Prayers, Day 205

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

God fashions the hearts of all
And understands all their works. (Psalm 33:15)

The Lord does not see as man sees. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will be silent before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy dwelling place. (Zechariah 2:13)

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being. (Revelation 4:11)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I wait for the Lord; my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope. I hope in the Lord, for with Him is unfailing love and abundant redemption. (Psalm 130:5, 7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12)

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:3–5)

Lord, I thank You for Your matchless holiness and for the glory of Your creation. I thank You that I have put my hope in Your word, and I ask that I would be ever mindful of my complete spiritual bankruptcy apart from the merits of Jesus Christ.
