Daily Prayer: Day 206

From Simple Prayers, Day 206

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

Has a nation changed its gods
Which were not gods?
But my people have exchanged their Glory
For that which is worthless.
By Your grace may I not forsake You,
The fountain of living waters,
To dig my own cisterns,
Broken cisterns that can hold no water. (Jeremiah 2:11, 13)

As one who shares in the heavenly calling, may I fix my thoughts on Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of my confession. (Hebrews 3:1)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Are You a God nearby, and not a God far away? Can anyone hide in secret places so that You cannot see him? Do You not fill heaven and earth? (Jeremiah 23:23–24)

By faith I understand that the universe was formed by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11:3)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I have hope in God, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. In view of this, I strive always to keep my conscience blameless before God and men. (Acts 24:15–16)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I should let my gentleness be evident to all men; the Lord is near. (Philippians 4:5)

My love must be sincere. I will hate what is evil and cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9)

Lord, I thank You that You fill heaven and earth and that You formed the universe by the power of Your word. I thank You for the hope of the resurrection, and I ask that I would be gentle and sincere in my love for people.
