Daily Prayer: Day 218

From Simple Prayers, Day 218

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So my soul pants for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1–2)

My soul yearns for You in the night;
My spirit within me diligently seeks You.
When Your judgments come upon the earth,
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. (Isaiah 26:9)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

No one can see the Lord and live. (Exodus 33:20)

We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and this mortal with immortality. (1 Corinthians 15:51–53)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit are with me. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will give generously to others without a grudging heart. (Deuteronomy 15:10)

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to us, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, we may abound in every good work.  As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase our seed and will increase the fruits of our righteousness. (2 Corinthians 9:6–10)

Lord, I thank You for Your promise that You will raise me to immortality and that I will be imperishable in Your presence. I thank You for Your love, grace, and fellowship, and I ask that I would be generous with the resources You have entrusted to me.
