Daily Prayer: Day 231

From Simple Prayers, Day 231

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

Blessed be the Lord; day by day He bears our burdens,
The God of our salvation.
Our God is the God of salvation,
And to God the Lord belongs escape from death. (Psalm 68:19–20)

It is good to give thanks to the Lord
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High,
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
And Your faithfulness at night. (Psalm 92:1–2)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Who can express the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare His praise? (Psalm 106:2)

O Lord, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. (2 Kings 19:15)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

When I was dead in my trespasses and in the uncircumcision of my flesh, God made me alive with Christ. He forgave me all my trespasses, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against me and was contrary to me; He took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Colossians 2:13–15)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

If I lack wisdom, I should ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to me. (James 1:5)

I will watch carefully how I walk, not as the unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. I will not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15–17)

Lord, I thank You for Your mighty acts and for Your glorious reign over all things. I thank You for forgiving my trespasses and making me alive in Christ, and I ask that I would seek Your wisdom and understand Your will.
