From Simple Prayers, Day 236

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

May we conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, standing firm in one spirit with other believers, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. (Philippians 1:27)

May our hearts be encouraged, being joined together in love, so that we may have the riches of the full assurance of understanding. (Colossians 2:2)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth. For Your mercy reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. (Psalm 57:5, 10)

The Lord appoints the number of the stars and calls them each by name. (Psalm 147:4)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Let those who love the Lord hate evil. He preserves the souls of His saints and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. (Psalm 97:10–11)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1)

May those who hope in You not be ashamed because of me, O Lord God of hosts; may those who seek You not be dishonored because of me, O God of Israel. (Psalm 69:6)

Lord, I thank You that You are exalted above the heavens and that You are intimately involved with Your creation. I thank You that You preserve the souls of Your saints, and I ask that I would seek unity and mutual edification with other believers.
