Daily Prayer: Day 237

From Simple Prayers, Day 237

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

You led Your people with cords of human kindness,
With bands of love;
You lifted the yoke from their neck
And bent down to feed them. (Hosea 11:4)

For those who revere Your name, the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. And they will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. (Malachi 4:2)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will enter the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; I will give thanks to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good and His lovingkindness endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:4–5)

Joshua said to Israel, “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your hearts and souls that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.” (Joshua 23:14)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

If anyone comes to You and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be Your disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow You cannot be Your disciple. (Luke 14:26–27)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will praise You with uprightness of heart as I learn Your righteous judgments. (Psalm 119:7)

I will not be like the man who did not make God his strength but trusted in the abundance of his wealth and strengthened himself in his evil desires. (Psalm 52:7)

Lord, I thank You for Your goodness, lovingkindness, and faithfulness, and for fulfilling Your good promises to Your people. I pray that I would be willing to put Jesus first in my life, and I ask that I would praise You and make You my strength.
