Daily Prayer: Day 240

From Simple Prayers, Day 240

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
And passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
But delight to show mercy.
You will have compassion on Your people;
You will tread their iniquities underfoot
And hurl all their sins into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:18–19)

May I produce fruit worthy of repentance. (Matthew 3:8)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His name. His mercy is on those who fear Him, from generation to generation. (Luke 1:46–47, 49–50)

I will praise You forever for what You have done; I will hope in Your name, for it is good. I will praise You in the presence of Your saints. (Psalm 52:9)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I know that I abide in Christ, and He in me, because He has given me of His Spirit. (1 John 4:13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

This is the will of God, my sanctification, that I abstain from immorality and learn to possess my own vessel in sanctification and honor. For God did not call me to be impure, but to live a holy life. (1 Thessalonians 4:3–4, 7)

If someone is caught in a trespass, we who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, considering ourselves, lest we also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

Lord, I thank You for the great things You have done for me and for Your mercy on those who fear You. I thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit, and I ask that I would walk in purity and not succumb to temptation.
