From Simple Prayers, Day 241
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.
Teach me to number my days,
That I may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)
May I let my eyes look straight ahead,
And fix my gaze straight before me.
May I ponder the path of my feet
So that all my ways will be established.
May I not turn to the right or to the left
But keep my foot from evil. (Proverbs 4:25–27)
Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:3)
The Lord gave the knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God to His disciples, but to others He spoke in parables, that “seeing they may not see and hearing they may not understand.” (Luke 8:10)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord and trust in Him, and all the upright in heart will glory. (Psalm 64:10)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. (Proverbs 11:28)
All a man’s ways are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the motives. (Proverbs 16:2)
Lord, I thank You for the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are in Christ and for His revelation of the mysteries of Your kingdom. I thank You that the upright in heart will glory, and I ask that I would trust in You and not in my own resources.
