From Simple Prayers, Day 246
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.
“To whom will you compare Me?
Or who is My equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift your eyes to the heavens
And see who has created them,
He who brings out the starry host by number
And calls them each by name.
Because of His great might and the strength of His power,
Not one of them is missing.
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth,
Does not grow tired or weary.
No one can fathom His understanding. (Isaiah 40:25–26, 28)
You, O Lord, remain forever;
Your throne endures from generation to generation. (Lamentations 5:19)
Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
You are the righteous God, who searches the hearts and secret thoughts. (Psalm 7:9)
The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. (Matthew 9:6)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
I have been sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be a saint, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours. (1 Corinthians 1:2)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18)
We should let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom and as we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)
Lord, I thank You that You search the secret thoughts and forgive our deepest sins. I thank You for calling me apart for Yourself, and I ask that my words would bring healing and nourishment to those who hear them.
