Daily Prayer: Day 247

From Simple Prayers, Day 247

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Why should any living man complain
When punished for his sins?
Let us search out and examine our ways,
And let us return to the Lord. (Lamentations 3:39–40)

My little children, I write these things to you that you may not sin. But if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (1 John 2:1–2)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler of all things. In Your hand is power and might to exalt and to give strength to all. Therefore, my God, I give You thanks and praise Your glorious name. All things come from You, and I can only give You what comes from Your hand. (1 Chronicles 29:11–14)

You led Your people with cords of human kindness, with bands of love; You lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them. (Hosea 11:4)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

He who makes me stand firm in Christ and anointed me is God, who also sealed me and gave me the Spirit in my heart as a deposit. (2 Corinthians 1:21–22)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will not be lacking in zeal, but I will keep fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11)

The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

Lord, I thank You for Your immeasurable greatness, power, glory, and majesty and for Your unconditional love. I thank You for making me stand firm in Christ, and I ask that I would live in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
