Daily Prayer: Day 249

From Simple Prayers, Day 249

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

As I have been instructed how I ought to walk and to please God, may I follow Paul’s exhortation in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. (1 Thessalonians 4:1)

May I examine all things, hold fast to the good, and abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21–22)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Jesus is Your beloved Son in whom You are well pleased. (Matthew 3:17; Mark 1:11; Luke 3:22)

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Christ is not weak in dealing with us, but is powerful among us. For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we are weak in Him, yet by the power of God we will live with Him to serve others. (2 Corinthians 13:3–4)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

We should always thank God for other believers, mentioning them in our prayers. (1 Thessalonians 1:2)

We should always pray for other believers, that our God may count them worthy of His calling and fulfill every desire for goodness and every work of faith with power. (2 Thessalonians 1:11)

Lord, I thank You for Your beloved Son and for His provision of the gift of eternal life. I thank You that I can live by Your power, and I ask that I would be thankful and prayerful for other believers.
