From Simple Prayers, Day 250

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

Concerning brotherly love, we have been taught by God to love each other, and the Lord urges us to increase more and more. (1 Thessalonians 4:9–10)

We should encourage one another and build each other up in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I will exalt You, my God and King; I will bless Your name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:1–3)

Shout for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! Break out into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion on His afflicted. (Isaiah 49:13)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

We are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of us who were baptized into Christ have clothed ourselves with Christ. (Galatians 3:26–27)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:1)

I will pursue peace with all men and sanctification, without which no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)

Lord, I thank You that You are most worthy of praise and that You have comforted Your people. I thank You that I have become Your child through faith in Christ Jesus, and I ask that I would be strong in His grace and pursue peace and holiness.
