From Simple Prayers, Day 257
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.
We ought always to thank God for other believers and pray that their faith would grow more and more, and that the love each of them has toward one another would increase. (2 Thessalonians 1:3)
May the Lord direct our hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. (2 Thessalonians 3:5)
Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
The Lord will be gracious to whom He will be gracious, and He will have compassion on whom He will have compassion. (Exodus 33:19)
Jesus had compassion on the crowds, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them many things. (Mark 6:34)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
I will not depend on human strength, but on the Lord my God for help and deliverance. (2 Chronicles 16:7–8, 12)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
The brother in humble circumstances should glory in his high position, and the one who is rich should glory in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of the field. (James 1:9–10)
Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. (Proverbs 15:17)
Lord, I thank You for Your grace and compassion and for the way Your compassion was revealed in the ministry of Your Son. I thank You that I can depend on You for help and deliverance, and I ask that I would walk in humility and avoid strife.
