Daily Prayer: Day 259

From Simple Prayers, Day 259

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the hope of all the ends of the earth
And of the farthest seas;
You formed the mountains by Your strength,
Having armed Yourself with power;
And You stilled the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the tumult of the peoples. (Psalm 65:5–7)

You are my God, and I will give thanks to You;
You are my God, and I will exalt You.
I will give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His loyal love endures forever. (Psalm 118:28–29)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord reigns; He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. Indeed, the world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. Your testimonies stand firm; holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever. (Psalm 93:1–2, 5)

John looked and heard the voice of many angels encircling the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and their number was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:11–12)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will seek the Lord and His strength; I will seek His face continually. I will remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, and the judgments of His mouth. (Psalm 105:4–5)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will humble myself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt me in due time, casting all my anxiety upon Him, because He cares for me. (1 Peter 5:6–7)

I will love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me. (Matthew 5:44)

Lord, I thank You that You are robed in eternal majesty and that Your Son is worthy of all honor. I thank You for the wonders You have done, and I ask that I would humble myself under Your mighty hand and cast all my anxiety upon You.
