Daily Prayer: Day 261

From Simple Prayers, Day 261

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not his own;
It is not in a man who walks to direct his steps.
O Lord, correct me, but with justice—
Not in Your anger, lest You reduce me to nothing. (Jeremiah 10:23–24)

“Come now, let us reason together,”
Says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red as crimson,
They shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You have sworn by Yourself; the word has gone out of Your mouth in righteousness and will not return. Every knee will bow before You, and every tongue will acknowledge You. (Isaiah 45:23)

A great multitude, which no one could number, from all nations and tribes and peoples and languages will stand before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes with palm branches in their hands, and will cry out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9–10)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Lord Jesus, I have nowhere else to go; You have the words of eternal life. I believe and know that You are the Holy One of God. (John 6:68–69)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will see to it that no one takes me captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of this world, and not according to Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

In my obedience, I want to be wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil. (Romans 16:19)

Lord, I thank You that every knee will bow before You and that all will acknowledge that salvation belongs to You and to the Lamb. I thank You that the Lord Jesus has the words of eternal life, and I ask that I would be renewed in Your truth so that I will discern what is good and not succumb to evil.
