Daily Prayer: Day 270

From Simple Prayers, Day 270

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

May I not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but of the world. And the world and its lusts are passing away, but the one who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15–17)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

I know that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness, a God who relents from sending calamity. (Jonah 4:2)

The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

This is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will also deny us; if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:11–13)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy conceals a matter. (Proverbs 11:13)

In a multitude of words, transgression does not cease, but he who restrains his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)

Lord, I thank You for Your grace and compassion and for the display of Your grace and compassion in the ministry of Jesus. I thank You for the faithfulness of Your promises, and I ask that I would be trustworthy and self-controlled in my speech.
