From Simple Prayers, Day 272
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
The Lord is seated on His throne with all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left. (1 Kings 22:19)
O Lord, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. (2 Kings 19:15)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous will live by faith.” (Galatians 3:11)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
This is the confidence I have in the Son of God, that if I ask anything according to His will, He hears me. And if I know that He hears me, whatever I ask, I know that I have the requests that I have asked from Him. (1 John 5:14–15)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
Lying lips are hateful to the Lord, but He delights in those who deal faithfully. (Proverbs 12:22)
A rod of pride is in the mouth of a fool, but the lips of the wise will preserve them. (Proverbs 14:3)
Lord, I thank You that there is no darkness in You and that You have justified me by faith in the Lord Jesus. I thank You for the confidence that You hear my requests, and I ask that I would deal faithfully and avoid egotistical speech.
