Daily Prayer: Day 274

From Simple Prayers, Day 274

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

You are He; You are the first,
And You are also the last. (Isaiah 48:12)

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus is blessed forever. (2 Corinthians 11:31)

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He cleansed our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs. (Hebrews 1:3–4)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to whomever He wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men. I will bless the Most High and praise and honor Him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. He regards all the inhabitants of the earth as nothing, and does as He pleases with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. No one can hold back His hand or say to Him: “What have You done?” I praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true, and all His ways are just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride. (Daniel 4:17, 34–35, 37)

Through the gospel, the Gentiles are fellow heirs with Israel, fellow members of the same body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 3:6)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and from his joy, he went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls; and finding one pearl of great value, he went away and sold all that he had and bought it. (Matthew 13:44–46)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

The tongue has the power of death and life, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. (Proverbs 27:6)

Lord, I thank You that Your dominion extends to all times and places and that I have become a partaker of the promise in Christ Jesus. I pray that I would treasure Your kingdom above all things, and I ask that I would be truthful and loving in my words to others.
