Daily Prayer: Day 275

From Simple Prayers, Day 275

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

The ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He examines all his paths. (Proverbs 5:21)

All a man’s ways are pure in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the motives. (Proverbs 16:2)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Heaven and earth will pass away, but the words of the Lord Jesus will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35; Luke 21:33)

God’s grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time and has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. (2 Timothy 1:9–10)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Who is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master finds so doing when he comes. (Matthew 24:45–46)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but he who is slow to anger calms a quarrel. (Proverbs 15:18)

Everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19–20)

Lord, I thank You that Your words will never pass away and that Christ Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality. I pray that I would be a wise and faithful servant, and I ask that I would quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
