Daily Prayer: Day 277

From Simple Prayers, Day 277

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

My eyes are upon You, O God the Lord;
In You I take refuge; You will not leave my soul destitute. (Psalm 141:8)

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God,
Until I declare Your strength to the next generation,
Your power to all who are to come. (Psalm 71:18)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

In Your majesty, You dwell in the likeness of a throne of sapphire above the expanse that is over the cherubim. (Ezekiel 10:1)

The heavens will vanish like smoke; the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die in the same way. But Your salvation will last forever, and Your righteousness will never fail. (Isaiah 51:6)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. (Luke 17:33)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

In my anger I will not sin; I will not let the sun go down while I am still angry, and I will not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:26–27)

Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam, so I will stop a quarrel before it breaks out. (Proverbs 17:14)

Lord, I thank You for Your exquisite majesty and for Your salvation that will last forever. I pray that I would find my life by losing it for the sake of Your Son, and I ask that I would shun anger and quarreling.
