Daily Prayer: Day 278

From Simple Prayers, Day 278

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

We should ask that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in others, and they in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:12)

May I remind others to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to slander no one, to be peaceable and gentle, and to show true humility toward all men. (Titus 3:1–2)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The word that goes forth from Your mouth will not return to You empty but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)

Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. I will put on the full armor of God, so that I will be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10–11)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will let another praise me, and not my own mouth; a stranger, and not my own lips. (Proverbs 27:2)

This is the one You esteem: he who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at Your word. (Isaiah 66:2b)

Lord, I thank You that Your word always accomplishes Your purposes and that faith comes from hearing Your word. I pray that I would walk in Your resources, and I ask that I would not be boastful, but respond to Your word with contrition and humility.
