From Simple Prayers, Day 279
I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD
God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.
Where does wisdom come from?
Where does understanding dwell?
It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing
And concealed from the birds of the air.
Destruction and Death say,
“Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.”
God understands its way,
And He knows its place.
For He looks to the ends of the earth
And sees everything under the heavens. (Job 28:20–24)
Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the counsel of the Lord that will stand. (Proverbs 19:21)
God’s judgment against those who judge others and practice the same things themselves is based on truth. (Romans 2:1–2)
I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH
In my distress I will seek the favor of the Lord my God, and humble myself greatly before the God of my fathers, for I know that the Lord is God. (2 Chronicles 33:12–13)
MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD
I will be diligent to present myself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
I will not give cause for offense in anything, so that my ministry will not be discredited. (2 Corinthians 6:3)
Lord, I thank You that Your counsel always stands and that Your judgments are based on truth. I pray that I will seek Your favor, and I ask that I would correctly handle Your word of truth and not be a cause of offense to others.
