Daily Prayer: Day 282

From Simple Prayers, Day 282

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Blessed is the man You discipline, O Lord,
The man You teach from Your word. (Psalm 94:12)

Surely You desire truth in the inner parts,
And in the hidden part You make me know wisdom. (Psalm 51:6)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; His eyes examine them. (Psalm 11:4)

The Father granted the Son authority over all people that He might give eternal life to as many as He has given Him. (John 17:2)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love. (Psalm 147:11)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. (Proverbs 9:9)

I should not say, “Today or tomorrow I will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make a profit.” For I do not even know what my life will be tomorrow. I am a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, I ought to say, “If the Lord wills, I will live and do this or that.” Otherwise, I boast in my arrogance, and all such boasting is evil. (James 4:13–16)

Lord, I thank You that You rule in sovereign majesty and that Your Son has authority to give eternal life. I pray that I would put my hope in Your unfailing love, and I ask that I would grow in wisdom and avoid presumption.
