Daily Prayer: Day 283

From Simple Prayers, Day 283

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I praise You, Lord, that You are intimately acquainted with my ways and that You always love me and have my best interests at heart.

You are God Almighty; may I walk before You and be blameless. (Genesis 17:1)

May I love my enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then my reward will be great, and I will be a child of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and evil. May I be merciful just as my Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35–36)

Take a moment to offer this day to the Lord and ask Him for the grace to grow in your knowledge and love for Him.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has resisted Him without harm? (Job 9:4)

He who hates Jesus hates His Father as well. (John 15:23)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I will judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each one’s praise will come from God. (1 Corinthians 4:5)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will be strong and courageous, and act. I will not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God is with me. He will not fail me or forsake me. (1 Chronicles 28:20)

What is my hope or joy or crown of rejoicing in the presence of the Lord Jesus at His coming? My glory and joy is the people in whose lives I have been privileged to have a ministry. (1 Thessalonians 2:19–20)

Lord, I thank You for Your wisdom and might and for the person and work of Your beloved Son. I pray that I would not presume to judge the motives of others, and I ask that I would not be discouraged, but fix my hope in You and fulfill my calling.
