Daily Prayer: Day 287

From Simple Prayers, Day 287

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

O Lord, I am deeply grateful for Your wonderful acts, for Your abundant promises, and for the gift of my relationship with You through the merits of Christ.

The heavens declare the glory of God,
And the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
Night after night they reveal knowledge. (Psalm 19:1–2)

I will exalt You, O Lord, for You lifted me up
And did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
O Lord my God,
I cried to You for help and You healed me. (Psalm 30:1–2)

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the many blessings that you have received from the Lord.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. (Psalm 45:6)

Heaven is Your throne, and the earth is Your footstool. Your hand made all these things, and so they came into being. (Isaiah 66:1–2a)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I have set my hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4:10)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I desire to be diligent to realize the full assurance of hope to the end. I do not want to become sluggish but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:11–12)

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. (James 1:12)

Lord, I thank You that You reign in righteousness and that all things came into being through You. I thank You that I have fixed my hope in Your character and promises, and I ask that I would persevere under trial and realize the full assurance of hope to the end.
