Daily Prayer: Day 289

From Simple Prayers, Day 289

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Who can discern his errors?
Cleanse me from hidden faults.
Keep Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
And innocent of great transgression. (Psalm 19:12–13)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

You declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that have not yet been done, saying, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:10)

God gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist. (Romans 4:17)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Blessed is the one You choose and bring near to live in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple. (Psalm 65:4)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will honor my father and my mother. (Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16)

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. May my father and mother be glad; may she who gave me birth rejoice. (Proverbs 23:24–25)

Lord, I thank You that Your purpose will stand and that You speak all things into being. I thank You that I will be satisfied with Your goodness, and I ask that I would honor my parents in the way that I live.
