Daily Prayer: Day 291

From Simple Prayers, Day 291

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

As I approach Your throne of grace today, I am grateful that You care about the things that concern me and that You want me to offer them up to You.

Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me;
O Lord, be my helper.
You turned my mourning into dancing;
You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
That my heart may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever. (Psalm 30:10–12)

Take a moment to share your personal needs with God, including your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

O Lord, God of heaven, You are the great and awesome God, keeping Your covenant of loyal love with those who love You and obey Your commands. (Nehemiah 1:5)

The Lord said, “In My Father’s house are many dwellings; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:2–3)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

I have been called, having been loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ. (Jude 1)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I desire to be righteous before You in my generation. (Genesis 7:1)

Since the day of the Lord will come like a thief, what kind of person should I be in holy conduct and godliness as I look for and hasten the coming of the day of God? But according to His promise, I am looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, since I am looking for these things, I will be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless. (2 Peter 3:10–14)

Lord, I thank You that You keep Your covenant of loyal love and that Jesus is preparing a dwelling place for those who know Him. I thank You for calling and loving me, and I ask that I would be upright in my generation and live in light of the coming of Christ.
