Daily Prayer: Day 293

From Simple Prayers, Day 293

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

God, I want Your Word to be deeply implanted in me so that I not only know the truth, but also express it in the way I live.

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise will always be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the Lord;
The humble will hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together. (Psalm 34:1–3)

Take a moment to affirm the truth of these words from Scripture and ask God to make them a growing reality in your life.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness at night. (Psalm 92:1–2)

Through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed, that through Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which they could not be justified by the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38–39)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. (Psalm 51:17)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. (Proverbs 12:16)

I will not be quickly provoked in my spirit, for anger rests in the bosom of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Lord, I thank You for Your lovingkindness and faithfulness and for the forgiveness of sins that is granted through Jesus Christ. I pray that I would humble myself before You, and I ask that I would practice self-control and calmness of spirit.
