Daily Prayer: Day 295

From Simple Prayers, Day 295

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, I give thanks for Your greatness, your goodness, and your love, and I now draw near to enjoy your presence.

The Lord God of hosts—
He who touches the earth and it melts,
And all who live in it mourn;
He who builds His staircase in the heavens
And founded the expanse over the earth;
He who calls for the waters of the sea
And pours them out over the face of the earth—
The Lord is His name. (Amos 9:5–6)

Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy dwelling place. (Zechariah 2:13)

Take a moment to consider God’s awesome majesty and thank Him that He loves you and wants an intimate relationship with you.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. (Isaiah 5:16)

God is able to do immeasurably more than all that we ask or think, according to His power that is at work within us. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. (Ephesians 3:20–21)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will train up each child according to his way; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; he will bring delight to your soul. (Proverbs 29:17)

Lord, I thank You that You are exalted in judgment and holy in righteousness and that You are able to do so much more than I can ask or think. I pray that I would forsake anything that is displeasing to You, and I ask that I would instruct others in Your ways.
