Daily Prayer: Day 296

From Simple Prayers, Day 296

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

I am grateful to You, O God, for the blessing of your forgiveness. I thank You that in Christ, You set me free from the guilt of the past and give me hope for the future.

Have mercy on me, O God,
According to Your loyal love;
According to the greatness of Your compassion
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me completely from my iniquity
And cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions,
And my sin is ever before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned
And done what is evil in Your sight,
So that You are justified when You speak
And blameless when You judge. (Psalm 51:1–4)

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is He who will save us. (Isaiah 33:22)

Christ is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. (Colossians 1:18)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

I will be strong and courageous; I will not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord my God will be with me wherever I go. (Joshua 1:9)

The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly passions and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age. (Titus 2:11–12)

Lord, I thank You that You are my King and that Your Son rules in righteousness. I thank You that eternal life rests in Him, and I ask that I would order my steps in courage and commitment to the Lordship of Christ.
