Daily Prayer: Day 299

From Simple Prayers, Day 299

I DRAW NEAR TO YOU, GOD

Lord, You have invited me to pray for the needs of others, and since You desire what is best for them, I take this opportunity to bring these requests to You.

We must encourage one another daily, as long as it is still called “Today,” lest any of us be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:13)

We should consider how to stir up one another toward love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24)

Take a moment to lift up the needs of your family and friends, and to offer up any other burdens for others that the Lord brings to mind.

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

The Lord of hosts is wonderful in counsel and great in wisdom. (Isaiah 28:29)

Jesus as our high priest meets our needs: He is holy, blameless, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people, for He did this once for all when He offered up Himself. (Hebrews 7:26–27)

I LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS OF TRUTH

Those whom You love You rebuke and discipline. Therefore I will be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:19)

MY RESPONSE TO YOU, LORD

In Christ Jesus, God’s whole building is joined together and growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom we also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:21–22)

Grace has been given to each one of us according to the measure of the gift of Christ. And He gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:7, 11–12)

Lord, I thank You for Your wonderful counsel and wisdom and for the perfection of Jesus, my high priest. I thank You for loving me enough to correct me, and I ask that I would seek to nourish others in the faith through the spiritual gifts You have given to me.
